What first hits you about the Sanyo EM-S2298V Microwave Oven is the good-looking, stylish exterior. The microwave is finished in black and chrome, with a mirrored door and minimal controls down the right hand side of the door.
Although the appearance is great, there is however far more to the Sanyo EM-S2298V. Don’t let the minimalistic look of the Sanyo EM-S2298V fool you as there is still enough functionality to perform most tasks.
The control panel of the microwave has only six buttons, making operation as simple as can be. A rotary timer is used to set the cooking time with the Sanyo EM-S2298V, which is much simpler than having to program in the correct time to start cooking.
The timer only works on 10 second increments rather than 1 second, but there are not many times when this should really cause too much of an issue. There is also a clock included on the display which is helpful for those using this as a reference while cooking.
Some may be put off by the size of the Sanyo EM-S2298V which is only 20 litres in size. This should still be large enough for most users, and also has the added bonus of fitting in pretty much any kitchen and on any work bench.
The Sanyo EM-S2298V features a glass turntable for evenly cooking food which is easy to remove and clean. The darker colour of the microwave also hides dirt a little easier than a white microwave for those times when you donÌt feel like cleaning!
The Sanyo EM-S2298V has only a 800W source of power, which may put some people off, but it is generally enough power most users. The power level can also be adjusted so you can easily set the machine to defrost food or cook on a lower power setting.
There are a total of eight different power levels, with some pre-programmed settings which are handy for food items such as baked potatoes. These are not however anything special so if you rarely use these settings than it is certainly not worth paying more for on a more expensive model.
Overall the Sanyo EM-S2298V microwave oven is a really great value product, which looks like a more expensive model and has all the basic functions that most home users will need.
