Easy to use and needs little space
First delivery, product was faulty. It took about 35 munutes to get through to customer services to rectify the problem. They did however re-send another which was fine.
The person I spoke to on the phone did not fill me with confidence at all but it got sorted.

I purchased this Microwave as a replacement for my 14 yr old Panasonic model which has given me trouble-free cooking, but was getting a bit tired! I ordered it online from Amazon on a Monday and it was delivered 3 days later! I am absolutely delighted with it. It is slightly higher powered than my old one, and is smaller in size, but it still delivers the same great results. I was after a microwave with built in grill and similar controls to my old model (as I find them so easy to use) and this fitted the bill. The convection oven feature on the NN-A554W is an added bonus, and I have yet to try cooking dishes by this method. My husband works strange shifts so the microwave comes in very handy, as we can prepare good hot meals very quickly. You can cook a Jacket Potato (with lovely crispy skin) in under 10 minutes, and it is great for doing Porridge and Scrambled Eggs for breakfast. The Chaos Defrost function is also very handy when you have forgotten to take something out of the freezer!
I would certainly recommend this model to anyone looking for an efficient, compact microwave with a variety of functions at a very reasonable price.

Bought 2 of these one for me and one for my dad. Both work excellently, easy to clean and great jacket potatos like oven cooked but quicker.

The pleasure of getting a new microwave was driven out by the loud buzz it emitted when I completed the installation. This was due to the fan rubbing against something. After a few hours wondering whether I should send the whole thing back, I discovered that if I half un-did one of the screws holding the rear heat-shield the buzzing stopped.
I’m wondering if there are any other late design changes that have an adverse impact on the product.

How have I managed without it? I had one previously but didn’t have much room in my new kitchen. However, it is much more compact now, with easy digital controls – and a great price. Having an extra oven is so handy and ideal for small items, although the turntable is full size. Every kitchen should have one and Panasonic are the best I have used.
